How much does the Shuttle Bus cost one way/return?
Shuttle Bus costs $10/person ONE WAY and $20/person RETURN. 

What is the Timetable for the Shuttle Bus?
Pursers Coaches operate a Shuttle Bus departing Glendon Street Bus Station, Kingaroy, at 11am then every two hours until 3pm.  It takes approx 1 hour to travel from Kingaroy to Burrandowan. Full Timetable available on our Travel page.

Where do I go to get the Shuttle Bus back to town?
Shuttle Buses depart from outside the Main Gate

Can we book a camping site?
There is no need to book a site - there is plenty of space available.  There are NO powered sites available.

Can I bring Dogs/pets?
No Animals are allowed at the Race Track or surrounding camping and parking area. By order of Racing Qld - NO DOGS ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON SITE.

Can I bring my own water and soft drink into the Licensed Area?
Bottled drinking water and softdrinks are available to purchase in the licensed area on Race Day however you may wish to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages. All bags and eskies will be subject to security checks upon entry.

Where can I buy/do I need tickets for water/soft drinks?
No, bar tickets are not required to buy softdrinks and water. Non-alcoholic drinks are available to purchase with cash at the Hall or from Rotary and Lions service areas.

What time is the first race?
Off and racing at 1pm.  Race Programme

Can I buy a Picnic Hamper or Cheese Platter on the day?

Are the High Teas sold out?

Where do I collect pre-ordered Picnic Hampers & Cheese Platters?
Pre-ordered Picnic Hampers & Cheese Platters can be collected from the Wine Bar which is the bar located closest to the Car Park and main entry. More Info? Visit our Hampers page.

Where’s the High Tea?
High Tea tickets can be paid for by 2pm on race day at the Wine Bar before the High Tea commences in the Hall. More information? Visit out High Tea page.

Do you sell merchandise and where?
Original Burrandowan Picnic Races Merchandise is available to purchase from the Hall. There is a great selection of Vests, hats, shirts, mugs and other goodies to help you remember Burrandowan. Visit our Merchandise page.

Where can I get First Aid assistance?
Please go directly to the First Aid vehicle located near the main entrance gate opposite the Hall.

Is there mobile phone reception?
No, there is no mobile phone reception anywhere on the grounds. There is a landline facility in the Secretary’s office for emergency use only.

Are there ATMs?
No. There are no ATMs or cash out facilities at the track. Please bring cash.

What time does the bar open/close?
The Main Bar will operate between 11am – 11pm. Wine Bar will open at 11am and close after the last race (approx. 5pm)

Can we bring tables/chairs into licensed area to watch races?
Yes, you are welcome to bring chairs, tables or picnic rugs to relax and enjoy the day.  Please note that pop-up tents are not allowed into the licenced area.

Pit-fired BBQ in the evening – what, where when…
What are the fire pits?
Traditional open fire barbeques are made with besser bricks and covered by steel mesh. Committee members light up the BBQs at 3pm so come sunset, the flickering embers are ready to cook your steak to perfection.

What do we need to bring?
We provide the steak, bread rolls and the bbq, you provide the rest! So depending on how fancy you like your BBQ meal, remember to bring BBQ tools, plates, cutlery, salads, tables, chairs. If you’re travelling light you’ll just have to make friends quickly! ;)

Where are the fire pits located?
The pits are located inside the race track at the eastern end of the grounds closest to the horse entrance.

What time can we start using the fire pits?
Access to the pits after the last race only (approx. 5pm)

Are the fire pits licensed?
The fire pits are outside the licensed area and no drinks are to be taken from the licensed area.  The fire pit bbq is BYO.

Where do we buy meat for fire pits?
Purchase your meat tickets at the steakhouse located inside the track near the pits. For more info visit our Race Day Dining page.
